How can we help?
Write to us about anything: a scan that went wrong, your subscription, an AI result or your data. A person reads every message.

Answers to common questions
Where are my documents stored, and what if I get a new iPhone?
Your documents, signatures, QR history and business cards are stored only on your iPhone. Scanova does not sync them to our servers, so we can't restore them for you.
- Keep a copy of anything important: open the document, tap Export, then Save to Files (iCloud Drive works too) or share it.
- Your iPhone's own backup may include your library. Restoring a backup is handled by Apple.
- Deleted something by accident? Look in Files › Recently Deleted. Documents wait there for 30 days.
The camera doesn't find the edges of my page
Put the page on a darker, plain surface in even light, and hold your iPhone flat above it. If the edges still aren't right, take the photo and drag the corners on the review screen. If you denied camera access, open iOS Settings › Apps › Scanova and turn on Camera, or import from Photos instead.
How do I delete my account and data?
- Open Settings in Scanova.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your documents, signatures, QR history and AI results are erased from your iPhone, and your account, usage counters and AI Art QR images are deleted from our servers. This can't be undone.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it with Apple (see below). Can't open the app? Email us and we'll delete your server-side data for you.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Scanova Pro is billed by Apple, so it's managed in your Apple ID:
- Open iOS Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Scanova.
- Change your plan or tap Cancel Subscription.
Or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period, or the 3-day free trial, ends to stop the next charge; you keep Pro until then. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I restore my purchases?
Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID you bought Pro with. Then in Scanova, open Settings and tap Restore purchases. If nothing is found, check that the subscription is still active under Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or email us.
What is sent to the cloud when I use AI?
Nothing, until a feature needs the cloud and you agree to it. Scanning, text recognition and business cards always run on your iPhone. Explain this and Translate run on the device too where your iPhone supports Apple's on-device AI (Apple Intelligence and Apple Translation). When they can't, and for AI Art QR:
- Explain this and Translate send the text recognized in the document to OpenAI. It's processed for your result and not stored, and it never trains a model. The result is saved on your iPhone.
- AI Art QR sends the code's content and your style or description to EachLabs, which creates the images (a description is first checked by OpenAI's moderation). The generated images are stored so you can open them again, until you delete them or your account.
Turn each feature on or off in Settings › Privacy & AI. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do conversions work, and is my file kept?
Photos to PDF, PDF to images, merging and splitting run on your iPhone. Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF, and PDF to Word, run on our own server: the file is uploaded, converted, sent back and deleted right after. The free plan includes one server conversion; Pro includes more. Formatting can shift a little between formats, so keep your original.
Why does my export have a watermark?
On the free plan, the first export includes a small watermark, and so does the free AI Art QR code. Scanova Pro removes it and gives unlimited, high-quality exports. Tap Remove watermark on the export screen to see the plans.
My AI Art QR code doesn't scan. What can I do?
Every AI Art QR code is checked to scan before you see it, and a generation that fails never costs a try or a credit. If a printed code is hard to read:
- print it larger, on a matte surface with good contrast;
- generate again with the slider closer to More scannable;
- use a shorter link. Shorter links make better art.
If a description is blocked, it was flagged by our automatic check. Try wording it differently. You can report any generated image from its result screen.
Can I rely on Explain this and Translate?
They are a fast way to understand a document, but AI can make mistakes. It is not legal, financial or medical advice. Always check the original, and ask a professional before acting on anything important. Handwriting is not translated.
