Prices are shown in the app. ## Questions ### Is Scanova free? Scanova is free to download. Scanning, importing, organizing, annotating and QR scanning are free without limits, and you can try each AI feature. Scanova Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription, billed yearly, or weekly with a 3-day free trial, that unlocks signing, text extraction, unlimited exports without a watermark and the full AI features. Cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. ### Do my documents leave my iPhone? Your documents, pages, signatures, annotations, QR history and business cards are stored on your iPhone. Scanova has no sign-up and does not sync your library. Scanning, text recognition and business cards run on your iPhone, and Explain this and Translate run on the device too where your iPhone supports Apple's on-device AI. When a feature needs the cloud, Scanova asks first; the document's text is then sent to an AI provider to produce your result and is not stored. A Word, Excel or PowerPoint conversion runs on Scanova's own server and the file is deleted right after. ### What does Explain this do? Explain this turns a contract, policy, bill or official letter into plain language: a short summary, the document type, key facts, deadlines you can add to Calendar or Reminders, red flags such as auto-renewal or hidden fees, and a to-do list. You can ask follow-up questions. AI can make mistakes; it is not legal, financial or medical advice. ### Can Scanova translate a document and keep the layout? Yes. Scanova detects the source language and translates the document into the language you choose while keeping the original layout, so it looks like the same document in a new language. Images, logos and signatures stay untouched, and a compare slider shows the original and the translation side by side. Handwriting is not translated. ### Can I convert Word, Excel or PowerPoint files to PDF? Yes. Scanova converts Word, Excel and PowerPoint files to PDF and PDF to Word. These conversions run on Scanova's own server and the file is deleted right after. Photos to PDF, PDF to images, merging and splitting run on your iPhone. ### What is an AI Art QR code? An AI Art QR code is a QR code that looks like artwork and still scans. Enter a link or text, pick a style such as Japanese Wave, Latte Art or Origami or describe your own, and choose more art or more scannable. Your documents, signatures, QR history and business cards are stored only on your iPhone. Scanova does not sync them to our servers, so we cannot restore them. Export important documents to Files or iCloud Drive, or share them, to keep a copy. Your iPhone's own backup may include them. ### How do I delete my account and data? Open Settings › Account › Delete account in Scanova and confirm. Your documents, signatures, QR history and AI results are erased from your iPhone, and your account, usage counters and AI Art QR images are deleted from our servers. This does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID subscription settings. ### How do I cancel or manage my subscription? Scanova Pro is billed by Apple. Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Scanova. Or go to https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period or the free trial ends to avoid the next charge. ### How do I restore my purchases? Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID you bought Pro with. In Scanova, open Settings and tap Restore purchases. ### What is sent to the cloud when I use AI? Only when a feature needs the cloud, and only after you agree. Business cards and text recognition never use the cloud, and Explain this and Translate run on your iPhone where it supports Apple's on-device AI. Otherwise the text recognized in the document is sent to OpenAI, processed for your result and not stored. For AI Art QR, the code's content and your style or description are sent to EachLabs, which creates the images, and the generated images are stored so you can open them again. Turn each feature on or off in Settings › Privacy & AI. ### Why does my export have a watermark? On the free plan, the first export includes a small watermark. Scanova Pro removes it and gives unlimited, high-quality exports. ### My AI Art QR code doesn't scan. What can I do? Every AI Art QR code is checked to scan before you see it, and failed generations never cost anything. If a printed code is hard to read, print it larger, use a matte surface with good contrast, or generate again with the slider closer to More scannable.
